Dinan E39 M5
| September 14, 2015 11:29 am |Mel Tang grew up admiring Germany’s finest in the 1990s, as his ownership of both a Porsche 993 Turbo and MB W124 E550 serve as testament. But his most elaborate ride is also his rarest: The early 2000s Dinan M5 was the most astonishing iteration of the E39 5-Series. Even though the Dinan team achieved wonders creating a stable, yet smooth, suspension, the phenomenal power output is the sedan’s most memorable feature: A thoroughly upgraded and supercharged S62 V-8, generating — in peak guise — up to 620+ HP. The Dinan E39 was, in hindsight, a brilliant sendoff to an era of BMW design.
