Auto Club Speedway, Fontana,Ca., Struck By Tragedy
A 24-year-old Los Angeles woman was killed in a crash during a simulated Indy race at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, it was reported today.
Ashley Sara Phalen’s vehicle struck the inside wall at a high rate of speed and overturned at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, the Fontana Herald News reported. Paramedics took Phalen to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana, where she was pronounced dead.
Phalen was participating in the Mario Andretti Racing Experience Driving 101 class, which teaches the public the basics of open-wheel racing by allowing them to drive replica Indy cars, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
Race track officials did not say how fast Phalen was driving when she smashed into the inside wall, but said race cars often reach speeds of up to 120 miles per hour on the two-mile course. Racing at the track was suspended Friday, but resumed Saturday.
Speedway spokesperson David Talley said it was the first death at the track that he could recall in recent years, adding that Phalen had taken a class prior to getting into the car and was in radio contact with instructors while driving.

Gaultier’s farewell to Hermes
October 7th Fashion week Paris featured Jean Paul Gaultier’s final line with Hermes. After 7 years as artistic designer for French line Hermes, Gaultier has stepped down to focus on his line. Christophe Lama ire who served as artist director at Lacoste since 2001 will be replacing Gaultier at Hermes. Although Hermes is sad to see Gaultiers leave the relationship between the two is not completely over.
Gaultier’s made heads turn with his final line with Hermes. Gaultier featured a chic equestrian line in buttery suede’s and calfskin. Horseback riding in style! His lines and silhouettes were beautiful and genius. Like the rest of the fashion world, I am sad to see Gaultier leave Hermes, but I am excited to see what Gaultier comes out with his own line. Gaultier we’re ready for you!!!

Kim Kardashian regretted posing nude for Playboy. Kim told Harper’s Bazaar she was “sorry” she stripped down for Playboy in 2007 and would never go nude again. But the famously curvy reality starlet decided to strip down yet again, this time in the name of art. She had some family support. Her mom, Kris Jenner, told her to “go for it,” Kardashian says.
Kardashian, 29, graces the November W Magazine cover for its annual art issue wearing only silver body paint. The issue hasn’t come out yet, but some not-safe-for-work images have been leaked.

Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
The Trident marque has catered to a more luxury-oriented market than the raw performance of its big brother on the Prancing Horse. But that doesn’t mean they can’t push the envelop just a little, and that’s what you’re looking at here.
Called the MC Stradale, this ultimate version of the GranTurismo bridges the gap between road and race models in the same way the revolutionary Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale did in its day. To get there, Maserati’s tuned the chassis, aero and engine to more closely resemble the levels attained on racing versions like the MC Trofeo spec racer and the GT4 competition model.
Modena claims increased downforce without a the combersum increase of drag, while the engine has been boosted to 450 horsepower as compared to the 430 in the existing GranTurismo S. On September 29, 2010 Robert Cavalli brought to Milan his new 2011 spring summer collection. Different from all the other shows in Milan Roberto Cavalli showcased a Chick Hippy look lined with fringe. He also showcased a new line of handbags with long shoulder stapes and even longer hemlines. The new line is defiantly a move from his tight fitting animal print lines, he moved his new line into dresses, skirts, muted tones and sheer fabrics. This was defiantly a very high talked about show.
Roberto Cavalli defiantly out did himself this time around, and I must admit that I love the new line. A fresh new feel for the long time loved 67′ Hippie look. The use of fabric and color in each look had me excited to see what was coming next down the runway. My favorite look of the show was the crème colored pants lined with fringe, and see a throw long sleeve crème top also lined with fringe down the front. All in all this is my favorite show in Milan Fashion Week. I will defiantly be looking forward to recreating this look.

Top Gear’s “Stig” races over to Fifth Gear!!!
Ben Collins, who was the main person behind Top Gear’s white Stig character until recently, is joining Fifth Gear for at least 5 episodes. He will host segments and in addition perform “Stig-like” challenges.
It is said that multiple people portrayed the Stig, but Ben Collins has been the main person and the one who set lap times since 2003 when the black Stig was killed off after Perry McCarthy, who played the black Stig, came out with an autobiography. Ben Collins is now doing the same with an autobiography due out soon.
Sources say that the white Stig may be killed off and replaced with a third Stig.
