The return of BMW to the DTM from 2012 is reality: This was confirmed by the company during the DTM race weekend at the Hockenheimring. In April this year BMW announced its intention to race in the DTM in principle from 2012, the first time since its departure from the series in 1994.
In recent months BMW has been working with the DTM umbrella organisation ITR e.V. and the other manufacturers represented in the DTM on issues relating to the future technical regulations, and the long-term internationalisation of the championship. The positive nature of these discussions means BMW Motorsport can now begin planning its DTM comeback in greater detail.
The intention is to use the BMW M3 as the basic DTM vehicle, a car that has enjoyed unique successes in the field of touring and sports car racing in the past. Eric van de Poele and Roberto Ravaglia celebrated two DTM titles with the racing version of BMW’s most sporty model back in 1987 and 1989, while before that Volker Strycek won the first DTM in 1984 in the BMW 635 CSi.
Spanish prostitutes are being ordered to wear safety vests or they will be fined $56. Spanish prostitutes must now wear safety vests even though they are allowed to walk freely through the streets of Spain because prostitution is legal there. Isn’t it wonderful to know that hookers will be safe? Man, I gotta go to Spain!!!
Unfortunately, some of the hookers in Spain haven’t been able to get safety vests because there are not enough of them to go around. Aww…poor hookers. Those same Spanish prostitutes are now being fined for what they don’t feel is their fault. The safety vests law is in effect in the city of Lleida where some believe that the Mayor Joseph Maria Bia has an ulterior motive. Several people believe that Joseph Maria Bea is only enforcing the safety vests law as a means of ridding Lleida of prostitutes.
Prostitution will always be around, so why aren’t the laws being geared towards educating these working girls on safe sex and not just safety vests? Seriously, there’s nothing wrong with safety vests for one’s chest but what about a safety vests for other parts of one’s body aka condoms? Wouldn’t condoms and safe sex be the safest thing to promote?
Speaking about Spanish prostitutes being forced to wear safety vests, a spokesman for the police officers said, “In the past couple of months the prostitutes have been fined for two reasons: for not wearing the reflective jacket and for creating danger on the public highway.” There are an estimated 300,000 Spanish prostitutes walking the streets of Spain and only a percentage of those are in safety vests. Wow, 300,000 prostitutes!!! I really need to go to Spain!!!
I am so excited, like a kid on Christmas! The German DTM touring-car series has announced plans to stage races in the United States in 2013, with its high-performance four-door sedans competing on the same program with NASCAR and Grand American Road Racing events.
DTM, the abbreviation for the series’ official title, Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, competes on road courses at many European tracks such as the Hockenheimring, site of Formula 1 and other events.
Autosport magazine reported on the comments of Hans Werner Aufrecht, director of DTM’s management group. “Beginning in 2013, we hope to have a championship with 12 races in the United States,” Aufrecht said. He added that six races are to be staged with Grand-Am and six with NASCAR events.
NASCAR’s premier Sprint Cup Series presently competes on only two road-course venues, Infineon Raceway in California and Watkins Glen International in New York. The Grand-Am series is closely affiliated with Daytona Beach, Fla.-based NASCAR. The series has one race at each track each year.
American-style stock car racing is popular in other parts of the world, particularly in Mexico and England, but the touring cars are a bigger draw, with Britain and Germany hosting national championship series. The FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) sanctions European and world championships. And Australia’s V8 Supercars series produced present NASCAR driver Marcos Ambrose.
There are significant differences in the equipment compared to NASCAR machines. DTM and other series use production automobiles (Audis, BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes) which have been modified for racing, similar to the GT sports coupes which compete in various forms of sports car racing.
More than a year out, there are many unanswered questions about the details of this venture, but the main question is how American fans will respond to the series. Let’s all hope it’s a great response.
Paranormal Activity 2 as expected is leading this week’s top 10 movies chart. There are movies and there are sequels. Then there is Paranormal Activity and then there is Paranormal Activity 2. If the first one made you jump out of the chair, this one will do the same times 10!!! This is a real-deal Halloween film .
The setting is not very different from the previous installment. It is the similar haunting locations made even more haunting with the camera angles. Revealing much about the story will become a spoiler. It would suffice to say just this much, that this time round the central character is a family that has been targeted by something supernatural. And at the center of it all is the baby in the family, baby hunter. Rest of it needs to be seen to be felt.
The performances are great, but what really is the mainstay here is the presentation or screenplay in more technical terms. It just unfolds beautifully, with just the right amount of chills and thrills incorporated with just the perfect timing. While you sit watching the events unfold, there is this constant sense of uneasiness about the air which does not let you relax until the last frame. This is where the movie clinches it all. It sticks so brilliantly to its genre and rather comes out shining and exemplary on how good horror is created with simple yet effective ways of playing on the mind of audience. So, for this one, I would say the real hero is Todd Williams who steered his crew really well. Also the script writers deserve fair amount of credit.
On the acting front, Sprague Grayden completely stands out. She has done an outstanding job. This clearly ranks among her best work till date. Even the scenes where the baby is shown all helpless are very effective. All in all, this is one movie which is quite tough to put out of mind after watching.
This is definitely not to be missed and preferably to be viewed in your nearest theater. Waiting for the DVD would be such a waste. I’m a film buff and love the grit that the theater projector adds to the image. After a long time, a satisfying horror experience! Now if I can just get my assistant to be brave enough, I can go see it again!
Versace joins once again the few select fashion houses able to bring their runway show LIVE to a world wide audience. Versace made a stream of their show available to more than 200,000 fans on Facebook. Hopefully a lot of designers took notes, since Donatella gave quite a lesson with her Spring/Summer 2011 Womenswear collection, in a stylish and playful game of proportions under Opposites Attract motto. It all went from short vs. long, high vs. low, plain vs. patterned, dull vs. bright, and fabric vs. flesh, platforms were vanished for stiletto heels 6 inches high and Versace Greek fret motif got an original pattern treatment.
The Parents Television Council released a statement slamming ‘Glee’ producers, TMZ reports: “It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on ‘Glee’ in this way. It borders on pedophilia. By authorizing this kind of near-pornographic display, the creators of the program have established their intentions on the show’s direction. And it isn’t good for families.”
GQ fired back, releasing a statement to THE INSIDER:”The Parents Television Council must not be watching much TV these days and should learn to divide reality from fantasy,” Jim Nelson, editor-in-chief of GQ, said. “As often happens in Hollywood, these ‘kids’ are in their twenties. Cory Montieth’s almost 30! I think they’re old enough to do what they want.”
Fashion week has come to an end in LA this past week. With final shows from Anthony Franco, Skingraft, Ashton Michael, Ximena Valero and many more, LA made its mark. Going through the many LA designers and shows, I came across White Trash Beautiful. The collection consisted of light flowing sheer fabrics, with soothing pastels and floral prints. Youthful and chick and perfect for the LA fashion week.
One look stood out in particular that spoke to me. A romantic opaque eggplant colored, flowing long sleeved top. Flowing sheer fabric that nicely hugs the body, long Juliette flowing sleeves, paired off with a pair of leather pants. Although the top says soothing and girly, the leather pants give it that LA edge that LA is known for. Rocker meets Romantic. Awesome look and great piece for White Trash Beautiful. Viva La Fashion Week.

It looks like Mel Gibson won’t be making a cameo appearance in “The Hangover 2″ afterall.
Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures and director Todd Phillips confirmed today that Gibson will not be joining stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms in the highly-anticipated sequel, which follows the gang to the exotic but dangerous locale of Thailand. Liam Neeson has been given the cameo role instead, which is kind of weird since the two are represented by the same management group.
Phillips stated: “I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of [WB president] Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”
Galifianakis was rumored to be upset with the decision to cast Gibson in a cameo, explaining to Comedy Death-Ray podcast host Scott Aukerman that he’s turned down several projects on moral grounds, saying:
“But a movie you’re acting in, you don’t have a lot of control – you just show up and vomit your lines out. I’m not the boss. I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But I can’t get the guys to [listen] … I’m not making any leeway.” Galifianakis cut Aukerman off with an abrupt warning sound as the host began to mention the film’s title, but after Aukerman pressed, “I know you’re filming The Hhhhhhhh … ” Galifianakis admitted, “It has something to do with a movie I’m working on, yeah. I’ll tell you about it later. It’s very frustrating.”
That’s not to say that Galifianakis had anything to do with Gibson’s removal from the film, though it is interesting how much the times have changed, when a guy who was best known as a stand-up comic three years ago expresses his frustration (which he has every right to do in this case) and a major (yet controversial) movie star is forced to leave a project that would’ve been beneficial to both parties.
Justin Timberlake, distiller of fine tequila. Who knew the singer had a flair for both smooth moves, and smooth liquors? Experts agree – the stuff is good.
Timberlake’s new tequila, called 901, passed the sip test – and then some – among three New York tequila afficionados with very discerning tastes. And they couldn’t have been more surprised to find themselves giving the drink high marks.
“It’s actually a really nice product,” said self-proclaimed “tequila geek” Dave Kaplan, owner of East Village speakeasy-style bar Death & Co.
“It has a nice richness to it, a full-body mouth feel, a nice finish.”
Head bartender Brian Miller agreed. “I gotta admit, I’m a little surprised,” he said. “I get some vanilla [notes] … I like that.”
901 is great as a sipper on its own, he said, adding it would work well with “citrus, stirred drinks.”
The spirit – named for the area code in the singer’s hometown of Memphis – is crafted from an old, non-Timberlake family recipe using 100 percent blue agave from Jalisco, Mexico. Those details, Kaplan says, are a mark of quality that lands this $40 tequila somewhere on the spectrum between the upscale brands Herradura and El Tesoro.
MMA Fans around the world, have been waiting for Arianny’s full nude shoot. She announced in September, she would be posing for Playboy. The November Issue is in stands now and here are the pics, enjoy.
Arianny Celeste once said,
“I’m a Scorpio, so that means I’m crazy. You don’t want to mess with me.”
At EvilStar we live dangerously and would jump at the chance of messing around with you.
Stupid scored big with an estimated $50 million opening weekend for Jackass 3D, Johnny Knoxville’s third foray into theaters. The film, which lured in 15 percent more women than Jackass 2, may break the record for highest-grossing October opening of all time, if projections hold. The R-rated laugh fest will surpass Scary Movie 3, which earned $48 million back in 2003, and a single-day opening record of $21.8 million for its opening day Friday. The film scored well with audiences, mostly young males, earning a B+ from exit pollster CinemaScore.
