UFC 133 – Phil Davis Out Versus Rashad Evans

By Eastwood   |    July 13, 2011 1:29 am    |   MMA, Sports   |    0 Comments

According to sources, UFC Light Heavyweight contender, Phil Davis has suffered a left knee injury. Due to the injury, he will have to withdraw from his UFC 133 Co-Main Event match with former champion, Rashad Evans. Davis and Evans were scheduled to meet at UFC 133 on August 6th, but now the UFC is scrambling to find a replacement.

MMA Fighting writer, Mike Chiappetta reports Tito Ortiz was offered Davis’ spot by Dana White but was turned down. Dana White confirmed this in a text to MMA Fighting. This would have been a rematch of the controversial Evans vs. Ortiz match in 2007, which gave Evans the win.

Speculation is that Ortiz (winner of his first fight in 5 years) turned down the spot due to insufficient time to prepare for the fight. The current name floating around as a replacement is Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida but nothing is confirmed at this point.

As of now, Rashad Evans remains oponentless. Should Evans remain on the UFC 133 card, whomever the opponent may be will also potentially suffer from a lack of preparation time.

UPDATE: According to Dana White and Tito Ortiz’ Twitter Account, Tito Ortiz will in fact replace Phil Davis.

Strikeforce: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson 7/30/11

By Eastwood   |    July 12, 2011 12:15 pm    |   Events, MMA, Sports   |    0 Comments

Strikeforce: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson, takes place July 30th, 2011 on Showtime. Will this be Fedor’s last fight? Loser of 2 in a row in shocking fashion (tap out, doctor stoppage), Fedor prepares for another fight after strongly considering retirement.

Emelianenko returns to the cage to face Dan Henderson, if Emelianenko does not win, many expect him to retire. In his last fight with Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, Emelianenko wilted in the second round as Silva passed to mount, Silva unleashed a furious ground-and-pound on Emelianenko that left him bloody and swollen. Emelianenko wanted the fight to continue, but his right eye had swollen so much that ringside doctors called a stop to the fight, claiming Emelianenko could not see.

Immediately after the fight, Emelianenko implied he may retire after losing 2 in a row. Through a translator he said, “Yes, maybe, it’s the last time. Maybe it’s high time. Thanks for everything. I spent a great beautiful long sport life. Maybe it’s God’s will.” But after some time, it was clear that Emelianenko was speaking on emotion as he planned to fight again. But will a third loss in a row convince Emelianenko to retire? Or will a victory keep him going? We can only wait and see.

Megan Fox Proves She Doesn’t Have Botox

MeganFox4Megan Fox, the former Transformers and Jennifer’s Body star wants to set the record straight.

The 25 year old Fox recently went to her Facebook (while you’re on Facebook, LIKE MyEvilStar) to post pictures in an album titled “THINGS YOU CAN’T DO WITH YOUR FACE WHEN YOU HAVE BOTOX.”

The goal of these photos is pretty obvious, Fox wants to set the record straight and prove she does not have botox injections. Four photos were posted of Fox raising her eye brows and scrunching her forehead. A typical person with botox could not do such things as the botox would prevent the person from much, if any movement in the botox injected areas.

The timing of Fox’s botoxless photos coincides with her new Giorgio Armani Beauty campaign which started on Wednesday, July 6th. Fox will be featured in the Gloss d’Armani campaign as well as a 2011 limited summer edition which includes eye shadow, sheer bronzer, blush, mascara and sheer lipstick.

We have to admit, Megan Fox looks pretty damn good in these pictures. Click the photos to enlarge!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

By admin   |    July 5, 2011 10:01 am    |   Random   |    0 Comments

Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” received terrible reviews from critiques but praise from audiences. Scoring a 38% and 90% respectively on RottenTomatoes.com

While Michael Bay’s “big film/big budget formula” may not appeal to all it does attract a crowd, making $162.1M at the box office so far. The movie was everything I expected awesome special effects, lots of action, and not much story. Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon was better than Transformers 2: Revenge of the fallen in all but once capacity (I miss Megan Fox). Do not watch this movie if you are expecting Shakespeare but a must see if you like senseless action packed block busters full of special effects.

We learn that mankind’s first mission to the moon was intended to investigate an alien space craft that crashed on the dark side. This ship, “the Arc,” carried the Autobots last hope to our solar system a long time ago.

Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), who earlier saved the world but now has a job in a mail room, and Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), who is his sexy girlfriend. There are also such characters as Mearing (Frances McDormand), a government official; Bruce Brazos (John Malkovich), Sam’s anal-retentive boss; Carly’s boss Dylan (Patrick Dempsey), whose classic car collection upstages every robot in the movie; the FBI manipulator Simmons (John Turturro) ; the peculiar Jerry Wang (Ken Jeong), and the expert warriors Lennox (Josh Duhamel) and Epps (Tyrese Gibson).

If you are a member of PETA, don’t watch this video. The vehicle above is a Lamborghini LP670-4 SV (Super Veloce). And here we have a squirrel against the Lamborghini LP670-4 SV. This is not a special squirrel, it has no special powers. It’s just your average tree climbing, nut gathering squirrel. The Lamborghini on the other hand is one of the makers biggest, fastest and baddest models. Who wins? Watch the video to see how it comes out.

Ryan Dunn’s Crash Site Memorial Vandalized

By Eastwood   |    July 1, 2011 1:14 pm    |   Random   |    1 Comment

The site where Ryan Dunn’s Porsche crashed was turned into a make shift memorial by friends, family and fans. Hundreds of goers stop by to leave pictures, cards, candles and flowers in his memory. Recently the site has been vandalized by someone that may be a bad speller.

The guard rail adorned with messages written fans and family was spray painted over with the words “Ritch Prick.” Yes, “Ritch.” So there are no suspects, police say it would be impossible to narrow down when or who vandalized the guard rail as there are numerous visitors every hour.

Super 8 Movie Review

By admin   |    June 22, 2011 4:16 am    |   Random   |    0 Comments

J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 film recalls those old great summer movies. Particullary those of the films producer, Steven Spielberg. Abrams’ long-awaited science fiction drama is in one word awesome.

The trailers give very little to draw from, Super 8 from the start lays a foundation of mystery to the story and for once it didn’t give too much away. And while the mystery is intriguing in its own right, it says something about the strength and conviction of the storytelling when the movie works in spite of it. The tension surrounding whatever escaped from that train car will lure people into theaters, but it’s the human elements that will stay with them after they leave.

A period sci-fi thriller set in 1979, around a small Ohio town.  The film follows a group of middle school students making a zombie movie on their summer vacation. One night, while shooting at an empty train station, a pickup truck drives onto the tracks and collides with an oncoming train. The kids survive and discover the truck’s driver is one of their own school teachers. He points a gun at them and tells them to run away just before the military arrives. It happens that their film camera was running the entire time and caught footage of some very confidential cargo. When the locals start to disappear and even the inquisitive deputy can’t come up with answers, suspicions emerge. As the truth finally comes out, no one is prepared to learn what now stalks the unsuspecting citizens of this once quiet community.

A solid piece of family entertainment, the plot of Super 8 is but an engine for a greater emotional story.

BMW M5 & M3 CSL SEDAN???

By admin   |    June 16, 2011 3:16 am    |   Motorsports, Motorsports   |    0 Comments

There has been alot of anticipation for the upcoming super-sedan. But this past weekend BMW’s M performance division held a special event in Munich, Germany where it showcased a number of special models, such as, a concept version of the upcoming 2012 BMW M5.

In the Super-Sedan spirt BMW’s go-fast division also rolled out a very special concept version of the M3. Built using parts from the track-focused M3 GTS, the new concept is essentially a stripped out and more hardcore version of the M3 Sedan and hints at a return of the CSL badge.

Intersting enough is the fact that, CSL stands for Coupe, Sport, Lightweight and marks the purest “street legal” but most track-focused cars offered by BMW in the recent past. The last BMW M3 CSL was built in a limited run of just 1,400 cars between 2002 and 2004 it is an very exclusive offering, and only the most dedicated opt for the extra expense and somewhat harsher and noisier ride characteristics of the car.

Now the CSL badge looks set to finally return on the M3 but it’s unclear exactly what it will be like. We should see more power from the familiar high-rev 4.0-liter V-8 but not quite as high as the 450 horsepower from the 4.4-liter V-8 found in the M3 GTS. Some parts on this concept that are borrowed from the M3 GTS, however, include the custom 19-inch alloy wheels, uprated brakes and a blacked-out grille. Other modifications include a tuned exhaust system, lightweight construction and a subtle bootlid lip spoiler.

No word on production but most BMW concepts based on the automaker’s production cars tend to receive the green light.

Interestingly, there have been reports that BMW M is set to unveil a new lightweight concept at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show this December, suggesting that we may see the return of the M3 CSL at the Japanese event
