CBS shuts down “Two and a Half Men” after Charlie Sheen slams bosses.

By admin   |    February 24, 2011 11:18 pm    |   Random   |    0 Comments

CBS announced late Thursday it has ended production of the hit comedy “Two and a Half Men” for the season.

The move came after the show’s star Charlie Sheen’s took to the air waves to slam “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre in a rambling, erratic interview on the syndicated radio show “The Alex Jones Show.”

“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of “Two and a Half Men” for the remainder of the season,” CBS Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television said a statement. The show has been in hiatus since January when Sheen entered rehab following erratic behavior.

Sheen addressed the suspension of the show in an open letter obtained by TMZ.

“What does this say about [anti-Semitic term referring to Chuck Lorrie] after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows,” Sheen writes. “I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can’t handle my power and can’t handle the truth.

Faster Movie Review

By admin   |    3:17 am    |   Random   |    0 Comments

Dwayne Johnson Returns on screen as “the Rock” in FASTER.  Although his charcter is officially titled “driver” old fans will recognize the on screen presence of the wrestler people loved to hate.  FASTER (Directed by: George Tillman Jr. Written by: Tony Gayton and Joe Gayton CoStarring: Billy Bob Thornton, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Carla Gugino, Maggie Grace) reminded me of the “Drive-in Films” of the 70’s when macho existentialists drove muscle cars across the California desert just for the pleasure of killing each other. Cars screeching backward, forward, and sideways, and when people in this movie die, they die brutally. But the script by Tony and Joe Gayton is just as interested in the ways guilt and vengeance can warp a soul, and it pulls a sharp performance from Thornton as a dirty little man trying to wash himself clean.

AntiHero Rock plays “The Driver,’’ released from a 10-year prison stretch embarks on a methodical quest to avenge himself against the crew that murdered his bank-robbing brother (Matt Gerald).  Billy Bob Thornton “The Cop’’ — who, when he isn’t shooting up heroin in toilets, is investigating The Driver’s long trail of bodies, and “The Killer’’ (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), a professional assassin hired to bring The Driver down.  The latter is both the movie’s most original creation and its silliest — a handsome yuppie software billionaire so bored with post-buyout life that he takes hit-man jobs for a dollar a pop. When he isn’t neurotically stalking his quarry, The Killer is fretting about emotional issues and proposing to his girlfriend (Maggie Grace of “Lost’’) via Bluetooth.

You can catch the big twist two thirds into the movie, as The Driver’s targets shift gradually from creeps to flawed dads to a testifying man of God (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje).  Overall I really enjoyed FASTER and although the movie felt a litte dry at times I still felt there was plenty of story behind each charcters (which I hope will lead to future spin-off movies). FASTER has the heart of a 70’s action movie with a subtle homage to Sergio Leone’s “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.’’ the later of which was a suprising after thought reveal thanks to the help of a ringtone.

Fedor loses 2nd straight fight

By admin   |    February 15, 2011 1:57 am    |   MMA, Sports   |    0 Comments

The long and historic career of Russian heavyweight star Fedor Emelianenko was filled with moments where he fought back from the brink of defeat, only to vanquish a bigger foe. But every great runs out of comebacks at some point, and for the second fight in a row, Emelianenko could not find the magic that had been the hallmark of his legendary run.

Emelianenko took a hellacious pounding in the second round of his Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix opening round fight against Antonio Silva and though he managed to survive the beating, it might have been the last round of his career. In between rounds, the fight was stopped due to swelling around his right eye that compromised his vision, and after dropping his second straight fight, Emelianenko admitted he might have fought for the last time.

“Yes, maybe it’s the last time,” the 34-year-old said moments after the fight. “Maybe it’s high time. Thank God for everything. I spent a great, beautiful long sporting life. Maybe it’s God’s will.”

If it is the end, Emelianenko (32-3, 1 no contest) will retire as the most decorated heavyweight of all time.

Some, however, seemed to think that calling it the end was a little premature.

Both Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker and M-1 Global president Vadim Finkelstein said they believe Emelianenko would reconsider his words after he had time to get over the loss. Emelianenko didn’t attend the post-fight press conference in order to visit the hospital for a possible orbital bone fracture.

“The decision is up to Fedor but I think I know him quite well, and he’s full of strength,” Finkelstein said. “He will continue, but the decision is up to him. I will encourage him. He still has a lot to show his fans, and he will show them.”

“As far as retirement, he talked about it, but you know how that goes,” Coker said. “People get very emotional during the fight. We’ll see. But my position is we have many more fights with Fedor and I think he’ll honor his contract.”

2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante

By admin   |    February 10, 2011 12:08 am    |   Motorsports   |    0 Comments

Latest version of Lamborghini Gallardo Super Sport that received Superleggera treatment, it power-driven by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that makes 562 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 398 lb.-ft maximum torque at 6500 rpm. that makes 10 more horsepower than the one in the regular Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder, lamborghini also shaved it weight by 143 pounds which would place this car around 3700 pounds.

Between the weight savings and the horsepower boost, Lamborghini boasts that the Spyder Performante can dispatch a 0-to-60-mph run in 3.8 seconds on its way to a 201-mph top speed. We figure the acceleration claim to be conservative, though, and would expect a time in the low threes for a 0-to-60-mph run. The Spyder Performante features a sportier suspension tune than on regular Gallardo Spyders, as well as special rubber. Lamborghini’s e-gear transmission, an automated single-clutch system, is standard, but the excellent six-speed manual with its gated shifter is available as a no-cost option. Lamborghini truly is doing heaven’s work.

Lindsay Lohan to be charged with grand theft!!!

By admin   |    February 9, 2011 12:24 am    |   Random   |    0 Comments

Prosecutors said Tuesday they plan to charge Lindsay Lohan with felony grand theft of a $2,500 necklace reported stolen from a jewelry store last month — the most serious count the actress has faced in more than three years of trouble with the law.

District Attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison said the charge will be filed Wednesday. Lohan, 24, is due in court for an arraignment on Wednesday afternoon.

Los Angeles police said Feb. 2 that Lohan was under investigation for taking a necklace from a Venice store later identified as Kamofie and Co. Detectives obtained a search warrant to try to retrieve the item from Lohan’s home, but it was turned in to a police station before any search was made. Police said they had no update on the case Tuesday and did not say whether the actress had made arrangements to turn herself in at court or at a police station. Robison said bail would be decided by a judge.

A phone message to Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, was not immediately returned. Holley has previously denied any wrongdoing by Lohan.

“We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press,” Holley said in a statement released Saturday.

The new case represents the most serious charges the “Mean Girls” star has ever faced. Arrested twice in 2007, Lohan was charged with drunken driving and drug possession, but both were misdemeanors.  Lohan remains on probation for drunken driving. A judge had threatened to throw her in jail if she ran into trouble again. Prosecutors in Riverside County have been considering whether to press charges against Lohan for a December altercation with a worker from the Betty Ford Center, where she was being treated.
