Drink of the Week – Evil Corona
Swedish design company Visualtech recently shocked the world with a daring “reimagining” of Jaguar’s E-Type coupe , the “Growler E”. Now comes word that the firm has decided to actually produce the retro-modern cat, as soon as the summer of 2012.

The exact details however, aren’t quite as sculpted as the car. Visualtech states that they will start by producing three or four cars, all to be finished around the same time. Then, depending on demand, an unspecified limited run will be put into production via the help of companies Steyr or Valmet. Paying homage to the brand which inspired it, the Growler E will be powered by Jaguar’s 5.0-liter supercharged V8, currently delivered in the current XKR. With some light tuning, Visualtech expects a car around the 600hp mark, that will pounce from 0-60 in less than four seconds.
With a composite body, the Growler will reportedly come together through a carbon fiber structure and tube frames in both front and rear that will hold its running gear. Price? Well that too depends on the demand and scope of the run. You can expect it to cost anywhere in between $700,000 and $1.4 million, so if you want one, you better try to get a few friends interested in as well.
Warner Bros. has fired Charlie Sheen!!!
Charlie Sheen has been fired from CBS’s “Two and a Half Men.” No decision has been made about the future of the show, according to multiple sources who have knowledge of the situation; they did not wish to be identified because they were not authorized to speak about the details of the situation.
Warner Bros. TV, which produces the show for CBS, did the firing, in a letter sent Monday to Sheen’s lawyer.
“Your client has been engaged in dangerously self destructive conduct and appears to be very ill,” Warner Bros. TV said in the letter addressed to Martin Singer. “For months before the suspension of production, Mr. Sheen’s erratic behavior escalated while his condition deteriorated. His declining condition undermined the production in numerous and significant ways. Now, the entire world knows Mr. Sheen’s condition from his alarming outbursts over just the last few weeks.”

IPad vs Ipad 2
Apple’s iPad 2 is thinner, lighter, and faster than the original, but is it different enough from last year’s model to entice new customers?
That’s the big question. Apple sold more than 15 million iPads in 2010. But, when Apple introduced the new iPad 2, some people are disappointed that latest version was still missing key features and isn’t much different from its predecessor. The device goes on sale in the U.S. on March 11.
iPad vs. iPad 2
Is there enough change to warrant an upgrade? What if your a new customer is the IPad 2 worth the money or do I save $100 and buy the newly reduced price Ipad? I’ll admit, I am torn.
The obvious reason to buy the first iPad over the iPad 2 is the cost. Apple just reduced the price of the older version of the iPad by $100. This means the least expensive 16GB Wi-Fi only iPad is now $399 instead of $499. And if you get a refurbished iPad through Apple’s site, the price goes down $349. (If you’re willing to get a used iPad elsewhere, you may even be able to get a cheaper price as many people will be looking to upgrade.)

Green Street Hooligans – Review
“Green Street Hooligans” chooses an unexpected entry point into this world. Its hero is Matt Buckner (Elijah Wood), a bright Harvard student kicked out of school two months before graduating after his roommate forces him to take the fall for some cocaine found in their room. The Harvard business is not convincing but motivates Matt to visit his sister Shannon (Claire Forlani) in London. Her husband, Steve (Marc Warren), more or less forces his brother Pete (Charlie Hunnam) to take Matt to a football match.
Wood, who can seem harmless enough to be cast as Frodo in “Lord of the Rings,” might appear to be the last person who’d be interested in the violent world of a firm. But the movie is about the way men who run in packs need to belong and to prove themselves. In a series of gradual stages, which are convincing because we see his early resistance wearing down, Matt tries to become accepted by the Green Street Elite. This involves fighting at their side, which he does with more recklessness than skill.
He has become addicted. He was a journalist at Harvard, an editor of the Crimson, and now he keeps a journal: “I’d never lived closer to danger — never felt more confident.” Life in the firm makes his previous life seem insubstantial and unreal; what is real is bonding with other men and beating the crap out of opposing firms.
Don’t assume you know who will die. It isn’t who you might think. Of the dead man, we are told: “His life taught me there’s a time to stand your ground. His death taught me there’s a time to walk away.” I guess the time to walk away is before you get killed standing your ground, unless you have a very good reason for standing it. The most frightening thing about the Green Street Elite is the members think they have such a reason, and it is loyalty to the mob.
I can’t understand a word they are saying and it makes absolutely no difference. 🙂 Lamborghini unveils the Aventador LP700-4 at Geneva Autoshow.

Hackers and Adobe – Security Issues
Adobe Reader is a very popular PDF reader that is heavily used because it is created by the same company that created PDF files. Whenever a site distributes a PDF file, there’s usually going to be some button that prompts you do download Adobe Reader if you are having trouble viewing the file.
The problem is that because of the product’s popularity, it is frequently the target for hackers. Here’s an interesting infographic I stumbled upon today on Twitter about the rapid increase in security exploits involving PDF files and Adobe. Click to view enlarged version.

Remember that Adobe Reader is hardly the only PDF reader out there. There are many alternatives that have far less security vulnerabilities (and not to mention less bloat) including Nitro Reader and SlimPDF.
