2014 Mitsubishi Evolution XI Going Green?
| November 29, 2011 3:27 pm |All wheel drive, turbo’d, blow off valve, spool, pssssh, fast, furious and fun…these are words not normally attributed to electric vehicles, until now.
Mitsubishi has confirmed that 2014 Evolution XI models will be hybrids. No, that is not a typo, yes that says HYBRIDS, as in gas and electric.
According to Osamu Masuk, President of Mitsubishi Motors, “We will start work on the project next year, and it will be ready within three. I have set the goal of developing a sporting car featuring electric power.”
At the moment, this is the only information Masuko is offering. There have been rumblings that the new model could feature a diesel motor to help with emissions (U.S.), but it won’t be cheap. Some purist will be against the idea of a legendary car going green while others may embrace the idea of extended gas mileage with a little turbo and all wheel drive fun. The only thing we can say for certain at this time is that it will be a hybrid and it will probably be expensive.
